MasterWorks: Journey Through History, a new VR experience for Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR

We couldn’t be more excited to announce the launch of MasterWorks: Journey Through History, a collaboration with Oculus and CyArk, available now for Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR!

MasterWorks: Journey Through History is a virtual reality experience that lets you travel across three continents to visit some of the world’s most amazing places that span over 3000 years of human history. In four fully explorable environments, you collect artifacts and learn from archaeologists and scientists about the mysteries of who built these amazing places and learn about the challenges they face today.

Discover the fate of the ancient capital of Thailand, the mysteries of a pre-Incan temple in the Peruvian Andes, the astonishing Native American cliff dwellings of Colorado, and the monumental stone carvings of Mount Rushmore in South Dakota.

We’re passionate about the world around us and the cultural heritage that shapes the present and influences the future. When we launched FarBridge, we wanted to connect people, places, and experiences — with MasterWorks, we got to do just that.

Working closely with Oculus and CyArk, our team at FarBridge combined state of the art LIDAR imaging and photogrammetry with cross-platform virtual reality software to bring you closer than ever before to remote locations, all in beautiful detail and research-level precision. We want as many people as possible to visit these awe-inspiring sites, so we prioritized comfort, ease-of-use, and accessibility throughout the entire project.
